Viral load is the level of HIV in the blood. The lower the level, the healthier the individual and less likely to infect others. In fact, the likelihood of infecting one’s partner can drop by 99%.*

Siempre Unidos is primed to respond to this challenge with its proven record of successfully testing, treating and monitoring patients with HIV.
Our goal is to raise $270,000 over three years (2015-2017) for the Siempre Unidos 90-90-90 Campaign to Stop AIDS in Honduras. With these funds, we will educate and test 5,000 people in high-risk groups, identify and treat 300 HIV-positive people, and possibly avert the infection of thousands more.
90-90-90 Campaign Activities and Costs

90% Tested to Determine HIV Status
Goal:
Test 1,800 high-risk & urban poor individuals annually
- Launch mobile clinic vans
- Deliver HIV education and counseling
- Extend outreach through community health fairs
Fundraising needs:
$64,000 for 2 mobile health clinic vans & maintenance (years 1 & 2)
$27,000 to test 1,800 people ($15/test includes all related costs such as staff, educational materials) x 3 years
90% of HIV+ People on Treatment
Goal:
Deliver antiretroviral treatment (ART) and continued monitoring
- Provide free antiretroviral treatment (ART) to patients immediately upon diagnosis
- Ensure the continued use of ART through short- and long-term monitoring and outreach programs
Fundraising needs:
$16,000 for 2 HIV case managers (x 3 years)
$5,000 to establish an emergency ART medication fund to cover shortages (x 3 years)
90% Durable Viral Suppression
Goal:
Achieve viral suppression through delivery of effective antiretroviral therapy
- Evaluate dangerously high viral loads with testing
- Deliver food assistance and nutritional support to increase efficacy of medications
Fundraising needs:
$5,000 for viral load tests (years 1 & 2)
$37,000 to purchase viral load test machine (in year 3)
$5,000 for nutritional support for impoverished patients (x 3 years)
