Board of Directors

Members of the board bring an impressive array of skills while serving as unpaid volunteers.

Denise M. Main, MD, founder and president of Siempre Unidos California, has been volunteering with Siempre Unidos since 2000, visiting Honduras five to six times per year. Always in close contact with Honduran patients and staff, she responds to local needs with innovative new programs. She is a practicing obstetrician and geneticist at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA.

Greg Fowler, treasurer of Siempre Unidos, is the president of Fowler Property Acquisitions, a large commercial real estate company based out of Santa Barbara, CA. His business background and connections have enabled Greg to lead an effective fundraising effort and engage many new partners.

Cesar Portillo, secretary of Siempre Unidos, is a founding partner of Advocacy Works in Los Angeles. A long term national and international advocate for those living with AIDS, Cesar returned many times to Honduras to develop our partnerships with the Episcopal Diocese of Honduras and with the Honduran Ministry of Health.

The Right Reverend Lloyd Allen, DD is the first Honduran-born Episcopal bishop of Honduras. He speaks out strongly for the rights of those living with HIV as well as other groups that face discrimination in his homeland. His commitments to human dignity and development of a self-sustaining model are inspiring to all.

Russell Pratt, Esq has over 30 years experience in large-scale Development, Construction Management, and Design. Since 1990, he has been devoted primarily to development & operation of Native American resort/casino facilities throughout North America. He practical experience in architecture and legal matters has proven invaluable as we build or acquire new clinic and workshop facilities.

Reverend Zoila Schoenbrun, was associate rector at St. Stephen’s Church, Belvedere CA when this church began its ministry to Honduras in 2000. Zoila developed the Anglican Rosary and Jewelry workshop in Siguatepeque that now employs 10 HIV positive women, most of whom are illiterate. She was born in Honduras.

Reverend Pascual Torres, is the tireless Executive Director of Siempre Unidos in Honduras. His compassion and careful individual attention to detail keep our three clinics, four micro-industries and five community outreach projects running smoothly. In addition, he serves as Chancellor of the Diocese and directs the only Episcopal seminary in Honduras.
