I help others understand that a diagnosis of HIV does not mean death but instead offers new hope.

Presiding Bishop Visits Siempre Unidos

We were honored with a visit from The Most Reverend Katharine Jefferts Schori, the presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States on May 11, 2007. Bishop Jefferts Schori came by the clinic for a very full morning of presentations, tours, cooking, and even dancing. She traveled for several days in Honduras with Mr. Radtke, the president of Episcopal Relief and Development (ER-D), and Ms. Abagail Nelson, Vice President of Programs for ER-D.

She particularly commented about our sewing workshop, Tabitha, that provides employment to HIV positive persons who because of discrimination would otherwise not be able to work noting "These brothers and sisters working together at Tabitha, and supporting each other, echo the experience of the early church. Healing the wounds of self-rejection and restoring the dignity of individuals is a powerful witness to the power of love."
