SPECIAL HURRICANE APPEAL

  • “The important thing is I got my daughters out of danger,” says Maribel, a Siempre Unidos staff member
and single mother whose home is inundated by mud.

    They are now homeless.
  • Food supplies, e.g. beans, rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, and masks and disinfectant ready for
distribution to families devastated by the hurricane.

Honduras is suffering terribly due to catastrophic flooding wrought by two category 4 storms -Hurricanes Eta and Iota – striking within two weeks in November. The impact is tremendous:

  • 1,500,000 people (17% of Honduras’ population) have lost furnishings, houses, crops, cattle, and other property
  • 182 Siempre Unidos patients and their families have lost most personal property
    • 82 of these families have lost their homes
    • All of these families are food insecure

We need your help now. Our fundraising goal is $120,000.

  • $20 to feed a family for a month
  • $175 to provide an electric stove
  • $300 to purchase a bed and bedding
  • $1,000 to install a new roof

We provide uninterrupted treatment and wrap-around support services including daily meals, home visits and support groups with calidad y calidez (quality and warmth).

Siempre Unidos is fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Honduras

We're fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Honduras with effective medical treatment and comprehensive social services.

To limit the spread of the disease – and to fight the associated stigma – we provide HIV education, testing, and advocacy, reaching out particularly to people who are most vulnerable and at risk.
